Das Anzeiger-Hochhaus in Hannover, Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony), Northern Germany. Designed by Fritz Höger, it’s 51 m high and was built in 1927/1928 near the Steintor. With its tall, green roof dome, it’s a landmark of the city and was one of the first skyscrapers in Germany. It also was one of the few high-rises in Hannover that survived the WW2 bombings. The dome features copper cladding which is unique in German high-rise construction. Originally, there was a planetarium in the dome; after the war, a movie theater was established. The structure was built as a 10-story high-rise, for the publisher Madsack, editor of the local papers Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ) and Neue Presse. In 1962 there were 800 employees, working for the press. Today, the building is also part of the city’s media center - housing companies such as RTL, Sat1, Radio FFN, and Hitradio Antenne Niedersachsen. Under the green, highly visible dome is the tower-air theater which is the highest cinema in Germany, mostly playing art house films. http://www.filmkunstkinos-hannover.de/

…tener, tener, tener…

…es más de lo que quisiera.

Robin Cerutti Photographs the Wonder

Canadian photographer Robin Cerutti has an affinity for water.  Many of his photos are underwater or reflections off water.  This extra dimension of water creates an extra dimension in his photos as well.  In his underwater photo series it is often difficult to tell what is underwater and what is above water and the above and below seem to merge.   His reflection photos extend the real world into a mirror world that stretches into a strange watery alternate mirror universe where sometimes up and down can be confused.  All of Robin Cerutti’s photography has a magical touch.  See more of Robin Cerutti’s work at his website www.robincerutti.com.
